THOR NODES REWARD REDUCTION? UPDATES TO “Nodes” Investment Model #1

Shocking Announcement

Due to exponential growth, the overall node count has 2x in a week and price action has been incredible.

This unforeseen exponential growth comes with a new set of bumps for the protocol.

Primarily, the daily reward emissions. At the current rate of growth, it is easy to hit a point of no return in terms of long term sustainability. The daily number of tokens generated will quickly exceed the buying demand and any revenue generated from the treasury investments would be rendered ineffective. In order to achieve long term success and scale the protocol with positive growth , we are introducing a new node reward model.

After a day of anger and outrage, the development team has further updated rewards based on the community feedback to be fairer to the Heimdall and Freya Node holders. Updated rewards will now also take place in a staggered manner to allow investors to recover more of their ROI before the reduction happens.

Reduction in Rewards

To promote protocol sustainability, we are reducing node daily reward rates. The reward rates will remain competitive against the other protocols in the market.

Daily Reward Decreased

• HEIMDALL —From 0.02125 to 0.008 THOR/DAY
• FREYA —From 0.1212 to 0.05 THOR/DAY
• THOR — From 0.33125 to 0.144 THOR/DAY
• ODIN — From 2.7335 to 1.02 THOR/DAY

Daily ROI Decreased

• HEIMDALL —From 1.7% to 0.64%
• FREYA —From 1.9392% to 0.8%
• THOR — From 0.0265% to 1.15%
• ODIN —From 3.49888% to 1.3%

Node Cost Unchanged

Node cost will remains the same.

• HEIMDALL — 1.25 THOR
• FREYA — 6.25 THOR
• THOR — 12.50 THOR
• ODIN — 78.125 THOR

Lowered Claim Tax

We are lowering the claim tax across the board and making them static. We will be discontinuing the ROT tax model AND removing reward decay.

• HEIMDALL — From 10% to 1%
• FREYA — From 15 % to 5%
• THOR — From 20% to 8%
• ODIN — From 25% to 10%

Monthly Maintenance Fees

A monthly node maintenance fee paid in AVAX will be implemented. This fee will scale with the price of AVAX. If AVAX price increases, monthly fees will also decrease for example. This introduces a new steady revenue stream that grows the treasury with zero effect on price action.

• FREYA — $10/month
• THOR — $15/month
• ODIN — $80/month

When changes take effect?

The new reward model will come into effect in staggered manner.
